THE CONCEPT
Andrew makes songs based on your ideas.
And sometimes he just makes songs.
But anyway, suggest something?

NEW CHAPTER
It’s been a gradual transition that wasn’t always even apparent to me, but I can definitively say now that my work will be focused more on my YouTube channel than this website. (Though a redesign is on its way that will integrate the two a bit more anyway.)
Of course, all the songs here will stay up for your enjoyment – some might even be made into videos in the near future. :) I will also continue to do commissions.
Thank you all for your support and encouragement over the years. Things are getting bigger and better and I hope you’ll stay on this magic carpet ride with me forever!

WHAT ABOUT JAZZ
You’ve impressed me quite a bit as a one-man band with your rock, rap, pop, punk, ska, electronic, and doo-wop skills… what about jazz?

Jazzizzlin’!
I’m not always a fan of Jazz, but I shoor like this one, ya.
Jeez….you’re like….a musical GENIOUS…
I don’t even LIKE jazz…much…-^^-;;;;;;;
Damn, son. That’s really good.
Wow, I love jazz, and that was awesome. Did you actually do that with real piano and drums and bass, or did you sound mix things? Either way, amazing piece.
this jazz is full of win
Wait… the note length of that melody is familiar. Is this Sad Sad Toaster made of Jazz?
That’s awesome! I don’t like jazz at ALL and that still amazed me.
Amazing song is amazing. Seriously, <3.
This is pretty impressive! Sounds like it could be a Sim City build mode background song!
Btw, what program are you using to assemble your songs, and do you use MIDI, as opposed to live playing? If so, what synth?? Because your songs are crazygood!
nothing impressive or new here, not really jazz either, more ‘jazzy’. but very good nontheless.
I bet if you played this at any swanky restaurant, it would be a hit. XD
I love it!
The main thing that makes this “jazzy” as opposed to straight jazz is the drums. In jazz, you have the hi hat on 2 and 4, and sometimes a cymbal/bass drum hit on 1 when the form comes around, but otherwise, very little in the way of crash cymbals on downbeats, outside of drum solos.
I suppose the other thing is that the bass in this piece has lots of held notes and tends to hit along with the piano chords, which is more typical of rock music.
Remember, swanky is just skanky with one of the consonants changed.

This was close enough to jazz to be enjoyed, so don’t be a sour-puss Karl, even if you’re mostly technically correct.
The only thing I was missing was a simple voice at the end saying. “So, what about jazz…”
I was sad when this ended. :C In other words, good job, Andrew!
this is incredible! It brings a tear to my eye.
Love the piano sounds! VERY nice.
Percussion & base distracting and annoying.
Please redo drum and base tracks and run it by us again. I’m waiting ………………..
That was so-so. It seemed like you were just coasting on the piano. I guess i expected more of a combo form (head, solos, head). I’d like to hear more of an outside improv piece. I want to hear your improv chops!
also, i didn’t like electric bass sound.
This Song is Awesome
But One thing to the requester
Andrew does have another Jazz song:
Sissi Swings
which is another great song
What lovely, jazzy background music!
Meh, you ain’t no Red Garland/Ahmad Jamal/Thelonious Monk but that was pretty good. I like “Sissi Swings” better – the trumpet soli is good stuff. What you really should do is play a jazz standard like It Don’t Mean a Thing or Blue Train or something and play around with it – show us that you can hit the changes and play the solos and etc. etc….
Jazzizle! That probably wasn’t a real word….
Reminds of Sonic The hedgehog, for some reason. This could totally be used as the sound track for a night club zone, which sonic games always have.
Jazzy, needs some horn
I love jazz so much!
It’s one of the most fun genres to play on piano.
You really get down man!
Im thinking so many people have misspelt in their requests before, it would be so funny if he’d written ‘jizz’ instead of ‘jazz’. Then he wouldn’t of gotten a song at all just a really strange worrying stare and maybeteh authorities involved.
Yo. This was much more swing than Jazz, not that I didn’t like it. There was a tad bit too much piano for my liking. I think it needs some lead trumpet and trombone. I kinda liked the electric bass sound, although upright string would have sounded better with the swing counts. Also, (I sound like a bitch.) a nice tuba walking bass line would be killer. =] but i thoroughly enjoyed it.
@macyrexxx
i’m inclined to agree with most of your suggestions about the instruments – though i do want to point out that the bass in the song actually is an upright.
I agree with a comment earlier with this being not really being jazz per se, but let’s be real: this is a pretty ridiculously nice song.
SO WHO CARES YOU WIN ANYWAYS
only for the fanciest of elevators :3
That saves me. Thanks for being so ssenbile!
