In 2006, Utada Hikaru released an album called Ultra Blue.
What I want is an English version of this song. I started writing lyrics in my spare time. It’s taken me a long time as I’ve been busy with classes and am a bit of a perfectionist, but I’m thus far pleased with what I have.

He doesn’t need a female voice, he did it perfectly in the sense that he made it his own.
I’m usually skeptical about English covers of Japanese songs, but I must say, you did an excellent job. Great song!
I have to say that was pretty amazing. After listening to the original it’s awesome that you were able to take the translated version and give it the same beat, despite the complete difference in the sounds of the words.
Wow I just decided to put the original version on top of your version and they sync up pretty well, not 100% of course but close, enough so that the pitches of your version and her version actually harmonize, which sounds pretty cool.
Uh yea… It was supposed to be growing number (lacking feeling)…? Maybe for some reason it wasn’t…

I almost had a heart attack when I read the title for this. I’ve been obsessing over Utada Hikaru for about a year now, and this is a brilliant cover. I think your chorus sounds edgy-er than hers because I always thought there were too many words in it. :P However, you can’t really help it with the Japanese language.

Holy crap, BLUE is my favorite Utada Hikaru song. This is a good attempt at English lyrics, trust me, I’ve tried. Unfortunately, the choppiness of the melody really lends itself more to a Japanese grammatical style.
Wow, I synced this up with the original too, it was VERY interesting to listen simultaneously. I’ve never heard either before tonight. Very nice.

Andrew, usually I wouldn’t pin your voice as being exceedingly talented. I mean, not Micheal Bublé perhaps, but still a good cut above the rest.
