THE CONCEPT
Andrew makes songs based on your ideas.
And sometimes he just makes songs.
But anyway, suggest something?

NEW CHAPTER
It’s been a gradual transition that wasn’t always even apparent to me, but I can definitively say now that my work will be focused more on my YouTube channel than this website. (Though a redesign is on its way that will integrate the two a bit more anyway.)
Of course, all the songs here will stay up for your enjoyment – some might even be made into videos in the near future. :) I will also continue to do commissions.
Thank you all for your support and encouragement over the years. Things are getting bigger and better and I hope you’ll stay on this magic carpet ride with me forever!

I THOUGHT SHE WAS A SKATER GIRL
This is a Paid Song – get your own!
Ska song about a guy and a girl
The guy met the girl and thought she was a dirty skater chick, but she turns into a ladder-climbing business-minded yuppie who is his sugar mama (and he is really fond of)
Kind of a Punk-rock girl kind of song, but she’s not really punk-rock, but a yuppie.
Nicknames: Sugar, Sugar lump, Stinky, Lump
I met her on a bench outside a laundry mat. We fell in love immediately. She called me an asshole within 5 minutes because I want to work for the government and she wants to do non-profit development work.
I moved in within 2 weeks or so and we had a fake wedding after 6 weeks. That was a wedding without the actual paperwork. That was in Colorado (Fort Collins). Then we actually got married 5 years later.
She is a Program Management Analyst, whatever that means. But she works really hard and has propelled herself from an entry worker to the big bosses right hand woman.
She has her act together and I’m kind of a slacker at times. I don’t do the chores around the house.
Something about going out in Washington dressed all business like because that’s what yuppies do. Drinking fancy drinks at fancy bars. And eventually, her goal is to basically save the world.
And if you can fit in Bob and Nada, our cats, that might score you bonus points.

EMMY EMMY GO GO GO
This is a Paid Song! Learn more…
When I am feeling sad like life is just a bowl of soggy oatmeal, I would like my very own song to encourage me to keep going and have an awesome day, and that everything will be allright no matter what happens.
Like my own theme song hahah!
Can have a punkish feel, can have a banjo, can mention kitties, can be any kind of awesomeness you want.
If you can’t think of any lyrics, heres some topics I enjoy: Cats, sunshine, flowers, Unicorns, rocking out, Harry Potter, magic. I also enjoy computer gamish sounds like from oldschool mario and junk.
I like to draw everyday, for I am an artist! I do mostly cartoony stuff. I drink tea everyday. I wear weird clothes everyday. I am a chocoholic.
Me and my brother Neil started Potter Puppet Pals, and thats pretty crazy. I puppeteer and help write the scripts.
One time Neil hid in my closet with the lights out and jumped out at me and screamed “DANNY DEVITO!!” which made me scream and wake up our parents.

THIS GIRL
If you could help me out with something that would be great. I really like this girl, but I don’t know how to express it. If you could write a song about her with her beautiful light blue eyes, long brown hair, and great athletic body, that would be awesome.

THE GIANT SQUID ALL-GIRL J-PUNK REDUX
This is a Paid Song! Learn more…
I’m an editor at Poor Mojo’s almanack. I would love a theme song for the Giant Squid column.
I’ve met with the other editors and we’ve scraped up the $10,000,000* for the full-on Pants treatment, but one of my co-editors tossed this idea out:
“If we go 10,000,000*, do we want to ask for two versions? The standard rock anthem circa 1976, and then the japanese girl band punk cover from the late nineties? Figure whatever a normal 10,000,000* dollar song would be (like 2-3 minutes) and cut it in half.”
Facts about The Giant Squid:
He lives atop the Renaissance Center (aka RenCen) in Detroit.
He has a Velocitator to travel on land (it’s kind of a robo-suit)
Once fought Lincoln (or at least the spiritually animated Lincoln Memorial)
Whales are his mortal enemy
His eyes are optically perfect
He eats dogs
The Giant Squid desires to conquer the world.
The biting and crawling things of the ocean are his minions.
*Price somewhat exaggerated for your reading pleasure.

THERE’S NOTHING BETWEEN US ANYMORE
This is a Paid Song! Learn more…
“Been blinking at my screen now six hours when you come in, but I sit up and rub the sleep from my eyes. Your smile lights up the room. “I’m yours,” you said, and I reached through and kissed you – just once, very carefully, as if you’d break and shatter away in a million lost breaths. We’re glowing, I tell you. We are a swarm of radioactive bees destined for the sun. There’s nothing between us anymore – no walls, no cars, no million miles. You’re mine, baby. You’re all mine.”
Just a song with those lyrics. I’m a fan of Jimmy Eat World love songs and the like, but the recipient is a bit more of a punk person. Somewhere in that spectrum…
I hadn’t written it with a chorus, just as a straight poem, but I can see using the last bit (“There’s nothing between us anymore – no walls, no cars, no million miles. You’re mine, baby. You’re all mine.”) for a little repetition.
