THE CONCEPT
Andrew makes songs based on your ideas.
And sometimes he just makes songs.
But anyway, suggest something?

NEW CHAPTER
It’s been a gradual transition that wasn’t always even apparent to me, but I can definitively say now that my work will be focused more on my YouTube channel than this website. (Though a redesign is on its way that will integrate the two a bit more anyway.)
Of course, all the songs here will stay up for your enjoyment – some might even be made into videos in the near future. :) I will also continue to do commissions.
Thank you all for your support and encouragement over the years. Things are getting bigger and better and I hope you’ll stay on this magic carpet ride with me forever!

GETCHA KICKS
This is a Paid Song! Learn more…
My girlfriend loves roller derby like it’s her religion, so I wanted to make her a song that glorifies her derby persona, Getcha Kicks”, and how awesome I think she is. Doesn’t have to be long or elaborate, maybe just featuring some rockabilly-style guitar. If you’re familiar with the Stray Cats, that’s sort of what I had in mind.
Getcha Kicks is a jammer, whose job is to pass through the pack without getting knocked down or off of the track and score points. They wear a star on their helmet and have to be fast as well as strong enough to take the hits from the other team’s Blockers. Some key jammer-related terms are “Booty Blocking” (using your butt defensively to stop the other jammer from getting through the pack) and “Lead Jammer” (getting through the pack first). Getcha Kicks’ teammates love her, and she’s got friends and admirers all over the world.
The derby team she plays for are known as the Derby Debutants, and their colours are pink and black. The team practices twice weekly, and they try and run drills on several universal derby plays, such as “eating the baby” (where the team absorbs the opposing team’s jammer and stops her from scoring points – I know, creepy name). The big tournament they aspire to win every year is known as “The Beast of the East”. Her teammates call Getcha “the juggernaut” because she tends to jam most often…
Lastly, her number is 76, which rhymes with her name. Announcers love it.

ILEEN
This is a Paid Song! Learn more…
I’d like a song about my wife. Her name is ileen. Favorite color: green.
Style- needs a “woah oh” like Papa Roach – To be Loved, or Jimmy Eat World – Sweetness, or the opening of Black Tide – Warriors of Time.
I’m military. She nurses at a veterans home.
How we met– She was in washington, I was in california. I joined the air force, got stationed in Texas, she moved to Texas (we met in Texas). I got stationed in Missouri so she followed, and we got married there.
She’s a bit clumsy, she admits.. she’s always tripping.
She worked at papa johns before nursing, and she’d smell like pizza when she came home.
She’s not fat… she’s athletic (loves softball), but she’s got a butt. And I love her butt.
Once we ate mexican food, and she said her tummy hurt, and I told her “you got alot of fajitas in there!” while rubbing her tummy. Now we use this for anything.. eat too much chinese? “theres alot of fajitas in there!”
Anytime we’re in a car together, she insists on driving (she doesn’t feel safe when I do?)
She likes to die her hair different colors. Its pink now.
She’s an amazing cook, but I have a habit of turning anything she makes into a dip. She rolls her eyes when I bring out the tortilla chips.
We used to turn on music videos real loud and clear off the living room floor and dance together (Sailor Jerry Rum helps right about here).
Shes a coffee FREAK! She has to have coffee in the morning!

MAGNETIZED
This is a Paid Song! Learn more…
I would like the style to be kind of like “Warning”-era Green Day, maybe a sort of acoustic pop rock. I want the first verse of the song to be a capella, but only the first verse. Before the lyrics kick in, have maybe 6 or so second of finger snapping and a capella “oohs” and “ahhs”, no instruments til the 2nd verse. The only guidelines I have for it, is that it be catchy, upbeat, each verse and chorus flows from one to the next, no real pauses or guitar solos.
Here are the lyrics:
VERSE 1 (a capella)
Something’s wrong with the stars tonight
It seems as though we’ve given up without a fight
It seems like we just can’t get it right
Let’s drench our souls in the starlight
VERSE 2
We’ve got to let go of our pasts you see
I want an answer, not “i don’t know” or “maybe”
We’ll work to together from now on, you and me
Let’s drench our souls in the blue sea
CHORUS
Now I remember a time when we were happy
I remember a time when we were alike
I remember a time before things fell apart
I know we’re not perfect, but we were so magnetized
VERSE 3
Remember how we were together all the time
Nothing could tear us apart, no reason nor a rhyme
We went together so well like a lemon and a lime
Let’s love each other again, until the end of time
CHORUS
Now I remember a time when we were happy
I remember a time when we were alike
I remember a time before things fell apart
I know we’re not perfect, but we were so magnetized
CHORUS
I remember a time when we were happy
I remember a time when we were alike
I remember I’d love you even when we were apart
I know we’re not perfect….
Perfect…
But we were so magnetized
Magnetized…
