THE CONCEPT
Andrew makes songs based on your ideas.
And sometimes he just makes songs.
But anyway, suggest something?

NEW CHAPTER
It’s been a gradual transition that wasn’t always even apparent to me, but I can definitively say now that my work will be focused more on my YouTube channel than this website. (Though a redesign is on its way that will integrate the two a bit more anyway.)
Of course, all the songs here will stay up for your enjoyment – some might even be made into videos in the near future. :) I will also continue to do commissions.
Thank you all for your support and encouragement over the years. Things are getting bigger and better and I hope you’ll stay on this magic carpet ride with me forever!

INTERNET HEROES
This is a Paid Song! Learn more…
You made the Stephen Is The Awesome song me for about 1.5 years ago. Are you available for a new song commission? This next song will be “Internet Heroes”, people with influence and smarts that caused today’s internet:
Douglas Crockford: Making JavaScript Amazing by scrubbing the tarnish clear, king of JavaScript. Douglas does nothing very well at Yahoo! Sunnyvale, CA. One of two people who wrote good books about JavaScript.
Ryan Dahl: creating Node.js
Audrey Tang: Autodidacticism pusher, you spread this idea, it was you. Hug and embrace your internet trolls.
Ingy Dot Net: inspires creativity, amazing, Ingy once stepped out on stage completely naked at a tech conference. CPAN lord and master.
Jonathan Swartz: What did this guy do? Uh, don’t know. Why is Jonathan in this song?
Larry Wall: Making all the Perls. Larry is strapping in Hawaiian Shirts. Larry, why is Perl an Onion?
John Resig : John has the Secret techniques of top JavaScript programmers. John wrote books about his secrets for ninja programmer assassins.
Steve Souders: Making the web faster.
Jeremy Zawodny: Jeremy has a lot of cats. Jeremy likes Sphinx and MySQL, or maybe he hates Sphinx and MySQL because he merged them at Craig’s List.
James Gosling: YOU made the JAVA HELL.
Igor Sysoev: PubNub uses Nginx (pronouced “Engine X”). Igor helped those Ruby on Rails folks, creating the greatest free proxy software load balancer.
Rasmus Lerdorf: What took so long to add Closures to PHP? And why no lexical scoping in PHP? IT IS NOT SCOPE LEAKAGE.
Linus Torvalds: Builder of the right way! The force worthy of cosmic points for creating Linux.
Bjarne Stroustrup: C Plus Plus, Lame. You created this high level compiler out of BS.
Guido van Rossum: Thanks for the Python!
David Heinemeier Hansson: Made Ruby Sexy with Rails.
Yukihiro Matsumoto: Ruby is Awesome. Ruby is Sexy.
Brendan Eich: JavaScript Origin Master. First it was called Mocha, then LiveScript.
Eight core contributors formed the foundation of the original Apache Group: Brian Behlendorf, Roy T. Fielding, Rob Hartill, David Robinson, Cliff Skolnick, Randy Terbush, Robert S. Thau, Andrew Wilson
Jarkko Hietaniemi: Master Librarian, Comprehensive Perl Archive Network. The CPAN Disclaimer is REALLY OUTDATED. Ruby Gems outshining CPAN, end of an era?
Joe Armstrong: Erlang woot!
Make this song Andrew Style. We want you to make this song in the way you know is good, not what we think, because we don’t know how to make songs.
The song will accompany an article on our website.

RHITZY RHITZ
This is a Paid Song! Learn more…
I’m looking to have a song written for my girlfrind for her 30th birthday in January.
Rhian loves 80’s music, dance music and some top 40 stuff. Her iPod has a lot of Kylie, George Michael, Janet/Michael jackson, scissor sisters, etc.
Rhian’s full name is Rhian Sioned Davies. Rhian is pronounced “Rhee-an” or “Ian” with an “R” in front. She is the youngest of three. Her family moved to quartile when she was only about 2 years old. They also told her she was left by the gypsies! = )
Rhian grew up on what she fondly calls the “north side”. An expensive and well to do part of Sydney that mostly refined people live in. However she now lives in the northern territory in “Darwin”
Rhian has also been known to impersonate crocodiles but then says “they can do it better than I can”
Rhian played international football. She was a defender and the team wore green and gold.
Rhian now works as a paramedic/ambulance officer, and they wear an ENTIRE outfit of dark green! (something about a green gerkin)
Rhian is also a massive scaredy cat! She hates scary moves and has been known to push others in front of her when faced with a threat…
Rhian’s most distinguishing feature would definitely be her laugh! It comes from the belly and can turn the head of anyone within a 100 metre radius!
Rhian can be messy.
She gives 150% in anything she does.
Rhian watches the same movies repeatedly but laughs like it’s the 1st time she heard the joke.
Some of the quirky things about Rhiannon include, but are by no means limited to;
* motion sickness – she is terrible on ANY mode of transport! She will vomit driving down a straight road with a slight curve, or the rocking motion of a train!!
* KFC’s “2’piece feed” – she likes to have her picnic and is incapable of conversation while she eats it
* hair twirling – she twirls strands of hair around her finger then flicks the end with her fingers. Getting her attention while she does this is like performing an exorcism. She gets in a trance and she’s gone!
Rhian often gets many a compliment about her tight backside (and plays up to it too!) and brings it out every time she hits the dance floor. It’s called “buun-gee shaking”
Can be quite emotional and will ALWAYS cry watching TV and movies! Even cried watching a McDonalds ad!
Rhian once performed in a drag show at a gay club called “ARQ” with friends. If you could include a reference possibly with “it’s hot in here” ( in a high pitched Women’s voice). Apparently Rhian had to say this and it came out really high!
Rhian also has fond memories of sneaking into “spicy friday’s” at the landsdown hotel for a quiet dance and a couple of drinks. Instead she was always hammered and stayed there till she was kicked out or too ill to stay.

FAMILY MUSIC TASTE SPECTACULAR
This is a Paid Song! Learn more…
Up until now I was limited in my very poor lyrical abilities to emailing friends and irritating them by putting their exploits in lyrics of cover songs. Humorous (for me) but limited in email or blog form.
So to my theme. I have a merged family of ‘Irish triplets’ (3 kids all born less than 12 months apart. Being that they are 15,15,16 they are now of the distinct impression that they know everything including musical taste. Hence my goal is to turn my corny hip hop lyrical skills
on a journey through their favorite musical genres to demonstrate it is not so different from the 80s retro stuff they make fun of.
The progression I had in mind was starting off with some sort of TV sitcom Brady Brunch, This is Life with Derek merged family music – move into Vanilla Ice/MC Hammer 80’s HipHop for lyrics about me, Disco/Hard Rock styling for spouse, Screamo/Techno for one son, Rap/Reggae for son currently living in Caribbean, Pop/Dance music (think Blue by Eifel 65) and circle back to Brady Bunch theme.
My daughter likes mash ups of 80s disco to a fast beat – the examples I hear on the radio are versions of Steve Winwoods ‘Valerie’,
Fleetwood Macs ‘Go Your Own Way’, ‘I will Survive’ – Gloria Gaynor…that could mash up mother/daughter tastes. Since my one son and I have had arguments that Billy Talent is in fact the much improved offspring of Johnny Rotten and the Sex Pistols…there’s maybe another 80s punk – screamo mash up opportunity.
Brady Bunch Theme chorus
Here’s a story of a merged family
They were playing Rock Band on their big screen tv
All of them had hair of gold, like their mothers
The biggest one in curls…..
80s old school hip hop a la Vanilla Ice Dad
Makin’
I’m bringing home the bacon
Sugar Daddy
To my extended family
If you gotta problem
I’ll solve it
Check out my skills
When my kids don’t resolve it
….Word to the Mother
80s disco a la Gloria Gaynor Mom
I will survive
I’ll stay alive
Just 3 more years
And no more tears
Cause then the kids will leave the hive
Gotta be strong
It won’t be long
Until I’m free to be
The queen bee in me
Reggae Rap Carribean style Son #1
Yo dad your rap
Is old school crap
You my blood
But I’m the stud
Got some
In my
Gotta get some sleep
This song is sweet
Dance mash up Daughter
Now this is a story
Of a girl dabba do
She had brothers two
And Daddy Mommy duo
I’m me dabba do
Who are you
Ain’t it great
Hibernate
In my room
From the noise
Of the boys
80s Punk
Parents are mean
Know what I mean ?
God Save the Queen
And King
He can’t sing
I’m the man
Xbox Band
Guitar Lord
High Score
Brady Bunch Theme chorus
Here’s a story of a merged family
They were playing Rock Band on their big screen tv
All of them had hair of gold, like their mothers
The biggest one in curls…..
(default ending – this is where you get to improvise and turn this into a
corny inside family joke into something witty and cool for all)
I also realize my lyrics may often rhyme but don’t flow very well – please
use full artistic license here
